What brings you JOy...........

Make a List of what brings you JOy!

Joy List......................
I sat and watched the wind blow the snow down the river as I drank my coffee and did my spiritual practice while thinking I still have March to journey through.......

After January rolls by then my first thought is that spring is almost here.

Well, there is still another month to journey through and March creates

a collage of many surprises.  What could I do to maintain a positive mindset

as I wait for the tulips to pop through that cold soil.  The answer is below…………..

Ever heard of making a Joy List?

I hadn’t heard about the list until I read a post on a Facebook page I follow,

Women Inspiring Women, which Nila Conzen posted - Make a Joy List and

complete it as much as your to-do list.

So, I did some research which was very interesting.  I mentally

have a list of things that I like to do; however, I haven’t bothered to

write them down.  Why should I write the list since I have a good memory?

Except a written list is easier to access than my busy brain.

What is a Joy List?

A list of things in your life that bring you joy and happiness.  Plan simple

things that make you feel good.

A joy list should be a list of the things that give you pleasure, delight, success,

satisfaction, radiance, positive things to do, make you feel good, words are happy,

pleasant things to do, and make you smile and your heart sing.

The Joy List can have the side effect of making you feel grateful.  So be aware.

I saunter through some days, drag through others and then other times I run.

Then there are the days my tank is empty or half full. So what do I do to fill it up? It isn’t like there is an energy station to go to and the next best thing is reading my Joy List.

How to make the Joy List…

Write new things to do or try, some old favorites and steal from other people’s list

then try it and if it doesn’t work then delete the suggestions.  The list will change

over time so don’t get stuck…..simply add and delete.

Creating a Joy List

………...Pull out a sheet of paper, your journal, smartphone, or laptop and make

a list of everything that brings you joy. Nothing is too big or too small.  When you are thinking about the list, write down

anything that makes you smile or you think might bring you joy.

…………….Read your list and if there is an item that needs to be done or you

have procrastinated about - cross it off.  Is there anything on your list that

you think MIGHT not make you happy - cross it off.

…………...The only items allowed on the list are things that bring you joy, pleasure,

delight, bliss, smiles, laughter……..makes your heart sing.

Only things that truly bring you joy are allowed on this list. Pure indulgent joy.

True happiness.

That is how you make a Joy List.

When another idea comes to mind……..write it down.

The Final Step……….Start doing the things on your Joy List.

Do at least one thing on your list once a week…….more if you want to.

I would be interested in reading your list so write in the comments or send a

message by messenger or email

Are you enjoying doing it once a week?

Was it worth it to do the Joy List?
