What brings you JOy...........

Make a List of what brings you JOy! Joy List...................... I sat and watched the wind blow the snow down the river as I drank my coffee and did my spiritual practice while thinking I still have March to journey through.......   After January rolls by then my first thought is that spring is almost here.  Well, there is still another month to journey through and March creates a collage of many surprises.  What could I do to maintain a positive mindset as I wait for the tulips to pop through that cold soil.  The answer is below…………..   Ever heard of making a Joy List?   I hadn’t heard about the list until I read a post on a Facebook page I follow,  Women Inspiring Women, which Nila Conzen posted - Make a Joy List and complete it as much as your to-do list.   So, I did some research which was very interesting.  I mentally have a list of things that I like to do; however, I haven’t bothered to write them down.  Why should I write t...

Words are Seeds........

Words are Seeds....Seeds have Power   Words are seeds.   Words have power.  Words are planted in our mind.    I think of words as  seeds planted in the moist soil of our mind and may remain dormant or it may sink deep and germinate.  Once the seed (word) has sprouted then it has a hold on us emotionally and can wreak havoc in our life.  The word may cause fear, hate, dislike or the word may bring joy, peace, insight, and love.   Even though I have been told words have no power over me, that is very difficult to understand when I am being criticized, especially by a person I care about.  Now, with time, I can separate the power of the word from the emotions. Words have creative power. When I speak, I am giving life to what I am saying, planting a seed, planting a thought, and planting an idea.  The words I speak today will fulfill the prophecy of tomorrow.   So I try to listen to what I say about myself and others...

A gift is a symbol of Love.......

a symbol of love A gift is a symbol of Love So I created 75 hearts sprinkled with love My daughter, an Occupational Therapist, took the hearts to work and invited  the staff to pick a heart.  The emails I received were gifts of love.  The staff were so appreciative.  A simple act that brought so much pleasure to a health care worker and I had so much fun creating. Hearts were needle felted, shaped wire, painted on canvas, created greeting cards, water colour then I embellished the hearts by embroidering designs, sewing beads, buttons and other pretty trinkets found in the studio.  Each heart was placed in a cellophane bag with pieces of chocolate and decorated with paper hearts and ribbon. Kindness is a beautiful spiritual practice. What have you given to another person that spreads love?
Grandmother’s Journal Spiritual practices with spiritual musings Sharing wisdom using my pages from the journal, photographs, and life experiences in whatever form that takes on that given day. Grandmothers are spiritual guides.  I am not sharing information about religion, instead I am sharing the spiritual practices that I use. Spiritual practices guide me to discover my longing for a richer life with the Divine so that I may become spiritually whole.  A practice is a pursuit that helps me strengthen my relationship with the sacred, including the trees.  I love trees.  The practice is intentional which feeds my spirit.  That spirit questions my life requiring me to ponder, contemplate, write or sometimes walk away with the intention to return later. I am a Grandmother from New Brunswick, Canada, who shares her musings on walking the spiritual path.  A grandmother is a leader in sharing her wisdom, value of love, nurturing, teaching and life’s connection....
