Words are seeds.
Words have power.
Words are planted in our mind. I think of words as seeds planted in the moist soil of our mind and may remain dormant or it may sink deep and germinate. Once the seed (word) has sprouted then it has a hold on us emotionally and can wreak havoc in our life. The word may cause fear, hate, dislike or the word may bring joy, peace, insight, and love.
Even though I have been told words have no power over me, that is very difficult to understand when I am being criticized, especially by a person I care about. Now, with time, I can separate the power of the word from the emotions.
Words have creative power. When I speak, I am giving life to what I am saying, planting a seed, planting a thought, and planting an idea. The words I speak today will fulfill the prophecy of tomorrow.
So I try to listen to what I say about myself and others. I don't want negative thoughts to become negative words which strip me of my energy. The only job that the negative words do is to keep the situation alive and build on it. Instead, I try to use words to change the negative situation. When a person asks me how I am, I can reply, ‘can’t complain’ instead I can use the word “great.” Big difference!
Stop and think about the stories that are in the news. How do you feel about hearing the story? What if you changed the words of the story, if possible, to a more positive slant or you were able to help find a solution to the story? How would you feel then? Shit happens in life but I can control my thoughts (words).
I control my life with my words…...the mind/ego is powerful when it comes to holding onto the negative. Don’t talk about problems……..talk about solutions. Plant the seeds of power with your words.
Are you building with your words or destroying?
