Silence and along came a creative idea........

Silence.......... …………In  a moment of Silence In the evening, I take a moment to be Still, to slow down, take a breath and chill.  The silence is like a beautiful shawl being wrapped around me as I sit and look at the frozen river.  The river is a spectacular piece of nature with its many moods and seasons.  While sitting, I noticed my grandmother’s quilt sitting on the end of the bed.   The cherished quilt is old but not really yellowed with time.  When I see the quilt, I think of my grandmother being with me.  My mind wanders to how she made the quilt with so few resources, however, she made it with love.  I have always wanted to paint a quilt.  I am too impatient to try and piece one. An idea takes wings as I sit there with the beautiful piece of art, the quilt, in front of me.  I could paint a piece of fabric and put it together with quilt batting and fabric back for someone to quilt for me. Be at peace..........a wonderful spiritual practice  

I am woman - hear me roar

.. I am woman - hear me roar   I am woman - hear me roar is a song sung by Helen Reddy and written by Ray Burton and Helen Reddy.   Because I am a woman, I don’t need to roar to be heard to change the world around me.     This morning, the wind roared showing its power and ego throwing the tree branches about - making noise wanting the attention.  The noise sounds scary - the roar is loud as the tree sways, bends, bounces back up to repeat the same action again.  Roaring doesn’t accomplish much except maybe intimidate or be aggress the way to create change.    I am woman - hear me roar…   My roar is kindness, gentleness, caring, sharing, a physical touch and love.   Every woman does it every day - nurture.   Women have power, the quiet power that creates change.  The change happens because we love in so many ways from the simple to extravagant things that we do each day.  That quiet roar is as simple as a hug to bei...
